We had a worn-down car dealership showroom to transform it into a performing venue. This space has become a perfect backdrop for the 1920s Berlin nightclub scene for the event. From the beginning focus of our conversations was how we embrace the nature of the space and contributing the design to the audience’s experience, rather than feel like we put a stage into a random room. McCaela and I had been talking about the idea of it being an underground club, so we looked up bar and club images. Only by seeing photos of booth and tables in a bar/restaurant, we both were agreed that would be an amazing playing environment that story could easily flow in it.
